High School Sweethearts Say Yes at Fort Worth Japanese Garden
She said yes at the Japanese Garden!

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden was thick with peak summer heat. The kind of humid heavy air that turns the Japanese Garden into a wall of vibrant green and sun baked yellows. Pathways curve around the quiet water and trees framed the bridge that felt completely removed from the city outside.
Roman and Gracyn have never been ones to wait around. High school sweethearts who both finished high school early and jumped straight into college, they’ve always moved through life at their own fast pace. But on a quiet footbridge in the middle of the garden, time stood still. At just nineteen years old, he got down on one knee and asked Gracyn to spend the rest of her life with him because he knew they were meant to be together.
After the initial shock, Gracyn shed happy tears and we spent time capturing their story through the gardens. While the summer heat was relentless, simple prompts and natural movement kept them focused on each other rather than the camera. A few steadying directions guided them into soft, intentional portraits that captured the exact weight of the moment. With graduation coming up next, they now get to do what they’ve always done, step into the future together.
