Nate & Abby's Studio Engagement
The Vision: Warmth, Natural, & Mostly Unscripted
When Abby first reached out, she knew exactly what she and Nate wanted to create: warm, lived in, and effortlessly relaxed. With the proposal officially behind them and the ring comfortably on her finger, all that was left to do was step into a space together and let us capture quiet reality of their connection.
The Pivot: Chasing Light in the Design District
In the days leading up to the shoot, Texas weather did what it does best, threatening us with grey skies and impending storms. We held out hope for an outdoor session until the very last minute, but when mother nature refused to cooperate, we pivoted from open fields to a studio engagement session.
Tucked away in the heart of the Dallas Design District, the studio’s modern-industrial space set a striking backdrop for Nate and Abby’s western love story. Beyond the doors, the usually bustling city streets fell quiet, grounding the start of their day in a rare, peaceful calm.

The Craft: Sculpting an Outdoor Vibe For a Studio Engagement
Although the location shifted, the vision remained unchanged. I was determined to give Abby and Nate that same organic warmth and lived in authenticity they envisioned. The moment I arrived, I got straight to work manipulating light and shadows and curating elevated set designs from the studio’s architectural arches and props. The goal wasn't just to shoot in a white box; it was to build a rich, dimensional environment that felt inviting and entirely authentic to who they are.
So remember the location is just a canvas. The true soul of a gallery comes down to how a space feels.
